THE TIP. The Wayback Machine will save any page on command if you just ask it to, not wait around hoping some crawler bot finds you eventually. Paste your own URL after web.archive.org/save/ in the address bar, so web.archive.org/save/https://yoursite.com/whatever, and it grabs a timestamped snapshot right then, hosted on somebody else’s server, dated by somebody who isn’t you. That timestamp is the whole point. If a platform folds, a client claims you never delivered what you said you did, or some scraper reposts your work under their own name a year from now, you’ve got a third-party dated copy sitting outside your control to point at.

I do this every time I publish anything that actually matters, not the daily stuff, the stuff I would fight over. Takes maybe fifteen seconds, and yeah I forget half the time too, until the one time I did not and it saved my ass on a dispute I am not getting into here. Bookmark the save URL.
